SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz starting lineup led by Rudy Gobert, dominated the New York Knicks for their seventh consecutive victory.

The Jazz defeated the Knicks 128-104 at the team’s 91st straight sellout at Vivint Smart Home Arena, on Wednesday, January 8. Utah hasn’t dropped a game since before Christmas.

Gobert led the Jazz with a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds. He was a perfect 5-5 on field goals including an impressive dunk in the first quarter of the game.

The Stifle Tower block one shot, dished out 4 assists, and stole one possession in only 26 minutes on the court. He recorded a plus-minus rating of +33.

Jazz Starters

Three other Utah starters scored in double-figures against the Knicks.

Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic poured in 20 points on 7-14 shooting.

Donovan Mitchell was an efficient 6-11 from the field for 16 points. Mitchell added a game-high six assists in 25 minutes. The Jazz star capped off an impressive 10-0 run with a dunk to start the third quarter. The run put the game out of reach for good.

Joe Ingles scored 11 points.

Forward Royce O’Neale was a field-goal shy of double figures but posted 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Eight Jazz players scored in double-figures against New York.

Second Unit

Utah’s bench was impressive in the blowout victory scoring 57 points.

Former New York Knicks guard and current Jazzman Emmanuel Mudiay led the second unit with a season-high 20 points on 8-12 field goals against his former team. Mudiay’s 20 points are tied for the most points by a Jazz bench player this season.

Tony Bradley scored 12 points on 6-7 field goals. Jordan Clarkson and Georges Niang each posted 11 points.

Juwan Morgan and Rayjon Tucker were the only Jazzmen scoreless against the Knicks.

New York Knicks

The Knicks were led by Frank Ntilikina’s 16 points off the bench.

New York starters Bobby Portis and Elfird Payton added 13 points each. Portis was assessed a flagrant foul for the second straight game but wasn’t ejected vs. the Jazz.

The Knicks fell to a record of 10-28 with the loss.

Looking Ahead

Utah improved to 25-12 overall this season. The Jazz have the best home record in the Western Conference with a 14-3 record at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

The Jazz next opponent is the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, January 10. Utah hosts Charlotte at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on NBA League Pass, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
