There’s nothing quite like feeling the energy at America First Field during a Real Salt Lake home match. The passion of the fans reverberates across the stands and spills onto the field, which has helped make the stadium in Sandy one of the most exciting atmospheres in all of Major League Soccer.

After selling out every home match last season, the stadium affectionately dubbed “The Riot” by supporters has become a must-see experience for every sports fan on the Wasatch Front. Experience the magic of game day with your friends and family as you get swept up in the unique culture that makes Real Salt Lake so special. From the music in the stands, the food in the stalls, and of course the action on the pitch, RSL game days are like no other experience in Utah.

Here are just a few of the special moments you’ll experience when you step foot in Sandy on Matchday.

1. The Iconic “Believe” Chant

Written by local music legend, Branden Steineckert, the RSL “Believe” chant has become the unofficial anthem of the Club. All of America First Field stands on their feet and sings as one to galvanize the players and unite the stadium behind their team. You’ll only need to hear it once before it’s playing in your head on repeat. One of the first signs to show that you’re becoming one of the RSL faithful.

2. No Better Time to Tailgate

Arrive early to the match and gather with fellow supporters in the tailgate lot. You’ve never experienced a tailgate quite like a Real Salt Lake tailgate. Enjoy some food and drinks with your family and friends before joining in on the electric “March to the Match” with the RSL supporters groups.

3. Plant The Flag

Remember to stay a bit late after every RSL home victory to watch one of the best traditions in MLS, the Real Salt Lake flag planting. Following a Claret-and-Cobalt win, the team will gather near the south stands, and the Club captain will pick the player of the match to wave the RSL flag and then plant it in front of the fans. This tradition has been around since 2005, and is a special way the players give thanks to fans for the special atmosphere they’ve created at America First Field.

4. Something To Take Home

Before and after each match, fans can gather near the field while RSL players throw plush mini soccer balls up into the stands. Additionally during the postgame, there will be a team-signed ball giveaway, and players will walk up to the stands to sign autographs, take pictures, and even possibly give away their jersey. Fans can also stop by the RSL Team Store to grab a wide assortment of Real Salt Lake merch to make sure you’re all set to support your local Club on gameday.

5. A Whole New Riot

America First Field has undergone a major facelift the last few seasons which has helped take the stadium experience to a whole new level. From new surround speakers, to special lighting effects and extensive aesthetic upgrades, the Riot has never looked or sounded better. If you haven’t seen the latest version of America First Field, there’s no better time to check it out.

6. You Won’t Go Hungry

America First Field has added some mouthwatering additions to the concessions lineup for the 2023 season. Stadium mainstay CupBop is bringing Korean BBQ back to RSL with locations in the Plaza and a cart in the northwest concourse. Local female owned business, Tina’s Bakery, will join us this season as well adding handmade empanadas to our food options. Stadium favorite, Royal Feast, will now feature a hot dog of the match showing flavors from the away team’s local flair.

New to the south goal supporter’s section will be the “Float on the Go”. Take any bottled soda and instantly upgrade it to a float with hand scooped ice cream. In addition, due to popular demand, Grab N Goal on the north concourse will now feature an ‘Impossible Burger’ to satisfy vegetarian requests.
