2023 Local NFL Free Agency Tracker

SALT LAKE CITY – The 2022 NFL season has concluded and free agency is the next big event regarding the league and the local players with ties to the state of Utah.

NFL free agency will officially begin on March 15 at 2 p.m. (MDT).

Here are the local NFL players involved with free agency in 2023*:

Former Utah Utes

Cody Barton – 2023 Team: Washington Commanders

Position: Linebacker

Seasons in the NFL: Four (all with Seattle Seahawks)

2022 Team: Seattle Seahawks

2022 Stats: 136 total tackles, 84 solo tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and six pass breakups

Status: Signed one-year deal with Washington Commanders

Matt Gay – 2023 Team: Indianapolis Colts

Position: Kicker

Seasons in the NFL: Four (Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams)

2022 Team: Los Angeles Rams

2022 Stats: 28-30 on field goals and 31-32 on PATs

Status: Signed a four-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts

Chase Hansen

Position: Linebacker

Seasons in the NFL: Three (all with New Orleans Saints)

2022 Team: New Orleans Saints

2022 Stats: nine total tackles and five solo tackles

Status: Restricted Free Agent

Tyler Huntley – 2023 Team: Baltimore Ravens

Position: Quarterback

Seasons in the NFL: Three (all with Baltimore Ravens)

2022 Team: Baltimore Ravens

2022 Stats: Passing – 658 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 67.0 percent completion rate. Rushing – 43 carries for 137 yards and one touchdown

Status: Restricted Free Agent, Ravens placed right-of-first-refusal tender on the QB

Eric Rowe – 2023 Team: Carolina Panthers

Position: Safety

Seasons in the NFL: Eight (Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins)

2022 Team: Miami Dolphins

Status: Signed with Carolina Panthers

Position: Safety

Status: Unrestricted Free Agent

Sione Takitaki – 2023 Team: Cleveland Browns

Position: Linebacker

Status: Expected to re-sign with Browns

Khyiris Tonga – 2023 Team: Minnesota Vikings
