Former USU Standout Tyler Larsen Re-Signs With Commanders
SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah State and current NFL offensive lineman Tyler Larsen re-signed with the Washington Commanders.
The Commanders announced the center’s new deal on Thursday, March 16. NFL free agency officially began a day earlier on March 15.

After signing his new contract, the former USU standout commented on staying in Washington. He’s played in Washington since 2021.
“What’s up Commander fans? Can’t wait to come back one more year,” Larsen said in a video tweeted by the Commanders. “Some unfinished business. Can’t wait to get out there.”

Larsen suffered a dislocated kneecap during Week 13 of the 2022 season. The injury ended his year. Washington finished its 2022 campaign with an 8-8-1 record.

After his 2022 start was delayed by an Achilles injury suffered a season prior, Larsen played in nine games, including eight starts, last season.

About Tyler Larsen
Before his time in the NFL, Larsen was a member of the Utah State football program from 2009-13.
The center went undrafted in 2014 and spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Washington during the next two preseasons.
In 2016, Larsen joined the Carolina Panthers. The former Utah State standout played for Carolina through the 2020 season. Ahead of the 2021 season, the offensive lineman followed head coach Ron Rivera from Carolina to Washington.

He helped Washington to a 7-10 record in 2021 before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury late in the year. Last season, the center suffered a season-ending injury for the second consecutive season.
Larsen has played in 69 games during his NFL career.
