A five-year veteran, Shultz saw his role with the Dallas Cowboys expand as he developed a rapport with Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. After making 13 catches in seven starts in his first two seasons with Dallas, Schultz exploded in 2020.
In the past three seasons combined, Schultz has started 44 of a possible 50 games while catching 198 passes for 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Schultz had his best season statistically in 2021. The former Stanford Cardinal caught 78 balls for 808 yards and eight touchdowns. He was named by the NFL Network as the league’s fourth-best tight end in October of 2021. His play led to Dallas offering him the franchise tag in free agency following the season.
