Riverton Upsets No. 11 Bingham Behind Barton’s Pair Of Touchdowns

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Riverton quarterback Colby Barton scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the Silverwolves in an upset win over the No. 11 Bingham Miners.
Riverton 20 at No. 11 Bingham 17
Barton tossed a pair of TD passes in the three-point victory.
The Silverwolves jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter to propel themselves in the win.
Bingham struggles to control the football and turned the ball over six times in the loss.
With the loss, the Miners moved to 4-3 on the season.
Riverton improved to 5-3 on the year with the win.

Region 1
Clearfield 14 at No. 4 Roy 41
The No. 14 Roy Royals put up a palindrome score of 41-14 on the Clearfield Falcons on Friday night. After falling behind 7-0 in the first quarter, Roy bounced back with 34 unanswered points to take control of the game. Royals quarterback Parker Kingston tossed three touchdowns in the game. The Falcons fell to 2-6 with the loss and the Royals moved to 8-0 on the season.
Syracuse 14 at Northridge 10
The Syracuse Titans trailed the Northridge Knights 7-0 before scoring 14 points in the second half to win 14-10. The Knights were limited to a single field goal in the second half and suffered their eight loss of the season and are now 0-8. The Titans improved to 2-6 this season.
Region 2
Cyprus 20 at West Jordan 23
The West Jordan Jaguars outscored the Cyprus Pirates 14-0 in the second half to win 23-20 on Friday night. The Jagaurs improved to 2-5 and the Pirates fell to 2-5 this season.
Granger at No. 5 Kearns
This game was canceled due to COVID-19.
Taylorsville 10 at Hunter 63
The Hunter Wolverines blasted the Taylorsville Warriors 63-10 on Friday evening. Hunter’s Nathan Suaste had four touchdown catches in the win. The Wolverines improved to 3-5 this season and the Warriors fell to 1-7.
Region 3
East 22 at Herriman 10
The East Leopards pounced on the Herriman Mustangs for a 22-10 on Friday. East’s Anitelu Kaufusi, Iuliano Sula, and Amini Amone each rushed for touchdown in the win. East moved to 3-4 on the season with the win and Herriman fell to 3-5 this season.
Region 4
No. 7 American Fork 41 at No. 10 Pleasant Grove 20
No. 7 American Fork Cavemen soundly defeated the No. 10 Pleasant Grove Vikings behind Maddux Madsen’s two touchdown performance. Madsen tossed a pair of TDs in the three-score victory. The Cavemen improved to 7-1 on the season and the Vikings fell to 5-3 this season with their third straight loss.

No. 2 Skyridge 20 at No. 3 Lone Peak 37
The No. 3 Lone Peak Knights scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to come back and defeat the No. 2 Skyridge Falcons 37-20. The Knights improved to 7-1 and the Falcons fell to 7-1 with their first loss.
Westlake 17 at No. 1 Corner Canyon 56
The No. 1 Corner Canyon Chargers blasted the Westlake Thunder 56-17 on Friday night. 49 of the Chargers’ points came during the first 24 minutes of action. Corner Canyon improved to 8-0 and Westlake moved to 3-5 on the season.

No. 6 Brighton 55 at Jordan 3
The No. 6 Brighton Bengals picked up their seventh win of the season with a 55-3 win over the Jordan Beetdiggers. The Bengals scored 34 of their points in the opening 12 minutes of the game. Jordan fell to 0-8 on the season and Brighton improved to 7-0.
