Lehi’s Fourth Quarter TD Gives Them Win Over Alta

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Lehi Pioneers needed a touchdown in the final quarter to get the 24-21 win over Alta.
Creyton Cooper ran in a one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the Pioneers ahead for good. The Pioneers also had a blocked kick returned for a touchdown by Grayson Brousseau and a 75-yard TD from Takeshi Faupula. For Alta, D’Andre Randolph and Ethan Jackson found the end zone on the ground. The two also connected through the air.

Here is all of the results in the 5A classification from the eighth week of the high school football season.
Region 5
No. 14 Bonneville 26 at Farmington 15
Bonneville scored 19 straight points to start the game. That was the difference as the Phoenix came up short. The Lakers picked up a TD pass from Kamen Best to Kord Shaw. Shaw also ran in two scores on the ground. Best had a rushing TD. For Farmington, Mitch Nielsen caught a touchdown from Drew Patterson. The quarterback also used his legs to get into the end zone once.
Woods Cross 17 at Box Elder 20
A late TD for Box Elder prevented Woods Cross from their first win of the season. Parker Buchanan threw two touchdowns and caught a TD. Carson Arnold and River Olsen each caught touchdowns for the Bees. Luke Hyde and DaShaud Seymour ran in the two Wildcat touchdowns.
Region 6
Olympus 59 at Hillcrest 0
Olympus scored 38 points in the second quarter and they never looked back. Tommy Hoggan threw just one touchdown, finding Josh Vandenakker. The Titans had rushing touchdowns from Johnny Frank, Nate Condon, Peyton Rice, Ryan Reynard and Sam Seagle.
Region 7
No. 12 Orem at No. 13 Timpview
This game was canceled due to COVID-19.
Region 8
Salem Hills 26 at Provo 21
On Thursday night, Salem Hills picked up a big road win in Region 8 play. The SkyHawks took a 20-14 lead at the half and was up 26-14 at the end of the third quarter. Provo was only able to score once in the fourth quarter and came up short of the comeback. For Salem Hills, Jarret Elmer threw three touchdowns and ran in another one. He connected with Austin Hallows, Gavin Averett and Willie Leota. The Bulldogs picked up three touchdown passes from Jace Welsch, finding Ryder MacGillivray twice and one to Rock Magleby.
Springville 49 at Spanish Fork 14
A 27-point second quarter was the difference as Springville picked up a dominating road win. Daden Dellmas threw a touchdown to Seth Rigtrup while also running in a TD. Rigtrup had four rushing touchdowns for the Red Devils. Zac Dart threw a TD to Morley Bennett and the Dons also had a rushing score from Jacob Tutagavou.
Non-Region
Cottonwood 12 at Payson 28
Payson picked up their second win of the season after an impressive performance against Cottonwood.
Maple Mountain at Mountain Ridge
