Report: Ravens QB Tyler Huntley Voted NFL Pro Bowl Alternate

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley was voted as the AFC’s fourth alternate signal-caller for the NFL’s Pro Bowl, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The NFL insider reported the news ahead of Baltimore’s Week 16 game against the Atlanta Falcons on Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24.
“Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley was voted as the AFC’s fourth alternate Pro Bowl quarterback, one slot after third alternate Pro Bowl quarterback Lamar Jackson, the quarterback he is replacing again Saturday, league sources told ESPN,” Schefter wrote on ESPN.com.
According to Schefter’s report, the former Utah standout received more votes than quarterbacks like Ryan Tannehill (Tennessee Titans), Derek Carr (Las Vegas Raiders), and Mac Jones (New England Patriots). Ahead of Huntley in the alternate process is Ravens starter and former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. Huntley is currently playing in place of an injured Jackson, who is dealing with a knee injury.
This season’s AFC Pro Bowl quarterbacks are Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), and Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals). If at least two of those quarterbacks decide not to participate in the event, both Jackson and Huntley would get Pro Bowl nods.

Huntley is starting his third straight game this weekend.

In three games played this season, Huntley has thrown for 413 yards and two interceptions with a 70.3 percent completion rate. He’s also run the ball 25 times for 87 yards and a touchdown.
During Huntley’s first two starts, the Ravens went 1-1. In his last start, the Ravens fell to the Cleveland Browns, 13-3. Huntley went 17/30 passing for 138 yards and an interception.
The Ravens sit in second place in the AFC North division with a 9-5 record this season.

Baltimore’s next game is at home against the Falcons on December 24 at 11 a.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on FOX and NFL Sunday Ticket.
2023 Pro Bowl Games
The Pro Bowl takes place during the week between the AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl LVII. This year’s Pro Bowl will be in a different format than a traditional scrimmage.

About Tyler Huntley
Before his in the NFL, Huntley was a standout player at the University of Utah. He played for the Utes from 2016-19. During his Utah career, the Dania, Florida native threw for 7,351 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions with a 67 percent completion rate.
Huntley signed with the Ravens after going undrafted following the 2020 NFL Draft.
He’s spent the majority of his time in Baltimore as the backup to Jackson.

During his three seasons with the Ravens, Huntley has thrown for 1,509 yards, three touchdowns, and six interceptions. He’s also run for 404 yards and three touchdowns.
Huntley will be a free agent after the season.
