Ravens QB Tyler Huntley Exits Concussion Protocol Ahead Of Week 15

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley exited concussion protocol ahead of his team’s Week 15 matchup with the Cleveland Browns.
Huntley suffered a concussion during Baltimore’s 16-14 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 11. The quarterback left the game midway through the third quarter and did not return. It was Huntley’s first start of the season.

Ahead of Baltimore’s next contest, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that Huntley exited the NFL’s concussion protocol.
On Thursday, December 15, Huntley was listed on Baltimore’s injury report as a full participant in practice for the second straight. The former Ute was limited in practice on December 13.
“I don’t think I had a concussion,” the former Utah standout said Thursday. “The protocols, they were doing their job, making sure I was safe. Clearly, I’m safe enough to play this week.”

Harbaugh didn’t commit to a starting quarterback during his press conference on Thursday.
A short time later, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Huntley would start against the Browns.

During his Week 14 performance, Huntley was 8/12 passing for 88 yards before leaving the contest. He also ran the ball nine times for 31 yards.
The former Ute replaced former Lamar Jackson in the starting lineup.
Jackson, a former NFL MVP, is reportedly currently dealing with a sprained PCL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Ravens starting quarterback suffered the injury during the first half of Baltimore’s Week 13 win over the Denver Broncos.
This season, Huntley has thrown for 275 yards and one interception with a 79.5 percent completion rate. He’s also run the ball 19 times for 72 yards and a touchdown.
The Ravens currently own a 9-4 record and sit in first place in the AFC North.

Baltimore’s game against Cleveland is slated to start on Saturday, December 17 at 2:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will be televised on NFL Network.
About Tyler Huntley
Before his in the NFL, Huntley was a standout player at the University of Utah. He played for the Utes from 2016-19. During his Utah career, the Dania, Florida native threw for 7,351 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions with a 67 percent completion rate.
Huntley signed with the Ravens after going undrafted following the 2020 NFL Draft.
He’s spent the majority of his time in Baltimore as the backup to Jackson.
During his three seasons with the Ravens, Huntley has thrown for 1,371 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions. He’s also run for 389 yards and three touchdowns.
