PROVO, Utah – BYU football had a day with their historic team-wide NIL endorsement with Utah-based company Built Bar. The news is changing the college football game forever, with each walk-on having their tuition covered.
But another intriguing element to the Built Bar/BYU football endorsement is the appearance of Built logos at BYU practices.
BYU announced this tidbit in their press release on Thursday, which read, “All players entering into the NIL agreement will wear Built branding on their practice helmets and participate in experiential events for Built.”

What will these practice helmets featuring Built Brands logos on them look like? BYU’s Director of Player Experience and Equipment Operations, Billy Nixon, delivered an early photoshopped look. See for yourself below.

The Built logos will debut on the BYU football practice lids this Saturday during day eight of camp. Built logos will appear on the front and back bumpers of the helmet.

BYU’s helmets this season consist of a 3D front bumper with the B-Y-U logo that features an oversized Y in the middle. Last year the Cougars sported an Oval Y bumper on their lids. The back of the helmet typically has a 3D “Go Cougs” bumper.
The Built branding will not appear on the helmets BYU wears during games.
Along with wearing a practice helmet that features Built logos, athletes that entered the NIL agreement will also participate in experiential events for Built. The 36 walk-on players who will have their tuition covered will also provide additional social media and experience promotions for Built as part of their agreements.
Gameday helmets won’t change
#BYU’s Royal Rush threads are going to look great in Las Vegas.
The shade of Royal is the same color from the helmet BYU wore in the 1960s.#BYUFootball @kslsports pic.twitter.com/y6Bc8yuFn9

BYU will open the 2021 regular season in Las Vegas against the Arizona Wildcats. The Cougars will be wearing a “Royal Rush” uniform, which will consist of a royal blue helmet. BYU hasn’t worn a royal blue lid in a regular season game since the 1960s.
BYU and Arizona will square off on September 4th with kickoff set for 8:30 p.m. on ESPN and heard on KSL NewsRadio.
