Donovan Mitchell Gifts Shoes To Cancer Fighter

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell continued his shoe giveaway tradition after a 24-point performance against the Los Angeles Clippers by giving away a pair of his signature shoes to a young fan who is currently fighting brain cancer. The fan was recently honored by BYU football as a “True Blue” hero.
Mitchell gave away a pair of his Adidas D.O.N Issue #1 shoes in a purple mountain “Mailman” colorway following the Jazz’s 110-96 win over the Clippers on Wednesday, October 30.

True Blue Hero
According to BYUtv’s Jarom Jordan, the young fan’s name is Wyatt Page.
Page is currently fighting brain cancer and was recently honored by the BYU football team as a “True Blue” hero.
This young man is Wyatt Page.
He’s a stud. He’s fighting brain cancer.

Co-founder and CEO of Qualtrics Ryan Smith also tweeted about Mitchell’s generosity after the game. Smith’s company has partnered with the Jazz to sponsor the team’s jersey patch with “5 For The Fight” to battle against cancer.

Qualtrics and the Utah Jazz recently extended their partnership to run through the 2022-23 season.

Mitchell alongside Mike Conley in the backcourt combined for 53 points in the win on Wednesday.
The third-year guard also added 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
Mitchell also gave away a pair of shoes after a road game in Los Angeles on October 25.
The “Mailman” colorway of Mitchell’s signature kicks are scheduled to be released on November 23.
Utah’s next game is against Sacramento on November 1 at 8 p.m. (MDT).
