SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Adidas is scheduled to release the “Mailman” colorway of Donovan Mitchell’s signature shoes, the D.O.N Issue #1, on November 23.

The “Mailman” kicks release date was confirmed by Jazz sideline reporter Kristen Kenney during Utah’s game against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, October 26.

Dick Sporting Goods also highlights the colorway on their sneaker release calendar.

A Tribute To The Mailman

Mitchell was seen wearing the new version of D.O.N Issue #1 shoes earlier in October at the Zions Bank Basketball Campus.

The shoes pay homage to Jazz legend Karl Malone and highlight the purple mountain design that’s featured on Utah’s classic edition jersey for the upcoming NBA season.

The design of the unreleased shoes first leaked online via WearTesters.com in July 2019 along with two other colorways of Mitchell’s shoes.

The shoes are mainly white and purple with accents of orange, black, and copper. The base of the shoe is white while the top is purple. Orange accents are found on the back of the shoe and on the tongue with Mitchell’s spider basketball logo. The inside of the shoe is copper and black. Purple speckles are also featured above the sole on the back of the shoes.

A postage stamp, purple mountains, and Mitchell’s logo are the main design elements of the shoes.

The stamp, highlighted on the side of the shoe, is a tribute to Karl “The Mailman” Malone. The stamp shows a cost of 45 cents (Mitchell’s jersey number is #45) and an envelope with a mailbox flag on it.

Purple mountains are also displayed on the side of the shoe but just above the sole. The Jazz wore a purple mountain design on their road uniforms from 1996-2004. The team is bringing back the design for 15 games this season.

MORE ON UTAH JAZZ:

Mitchell wore the “Mailman” shoes during the Kings vs. Jazz game to match the throwback uniforms worn by the Jazz.

Utah wore its “Purple Mountain” uniforms for the first time since April 12, 2004.

The purple mountain shoes aren’t currently listed by Adidas.com.
