Rising came on as a surprise spark plug after the offense sputtered through 2 1/2 games under the leadership of Charlie Brewer. After Rising came on in relief of Brewer at San Diego State and nearly led that Utes to a comeback victory, they were his team.
Rising finished the season throwing for 2493 yards, completing passes at a 63.75 percent rate and threw 20 touchdowns to just five interceptions.
Kuithe finished the season with 50 catches, second only to Britain Covey’s 52. He led the Utes with 611 yards receiving and had six touchdown catches.
Phillips III contributed 46 tackles and two interceptions, including a game sealing pick-six late against Washington State.
While Kaufusi’s stats don’t pop off the page, just four solo tackles, his leadership in the trenches is what he brings to the field.
Redding went 10-14 on field goals, including hitting 3-4 from 40+ yards.
Utah his scheduled to open the 2022 season in Gainesville, Florida on Saturday, September 3.
