Utah Football 2022 Recruiting Class Sees Big Jump In Ratings

SALT LAKE CITY – As the 2022 recruiting cycle comes to an end next month, Utah football saw some of their signees see a big bump in their ratings as the February signing day approaches.
All of the bumps in for the 2022 Utah football recruiting class in the ratings came from 247Sports and not the composite rating system.
Lander Barton
Brighton star linebacker Lander Barton had an impressive showing at the All-American Game and 247Sports rewarded him with a big jump in his rating. According to the recruiting site, Barton now has a 0.9700 and is on the brink of getting his fifth star. He is the 40th ranked recruit in the nation, No. 4 linebacker in the nation and No. 1 prospect in the state of Utah.
The composite ranking has him at a 0.9588 rating, No. 95 recruit in the country, No. 7 linebacker and No. 2 prospect in the state, behind Corner Canyon QB Devin Brown.
Jaylon Glover, Kaeo Akana, Tao Johnson
Florida running back Jaylon Glover picked up his fourth star with a 0.8935 rating. He is now the No. 33 running back in the country.
Hawai’i linebacker Kaeo Akana also received his fourth star by 247Sports. His rating now stands at 0.9000 and is the No. 32 ranked LB in the nation and No. 1 prospect from the state of Hawai’i. The composite rating still has three stars for Akana.

Idaho athlete Tao Johnson is now a 4-star prospect, according to 247Sports. Like Akana, Johnson’s rating is 0.9000. He is the No. 23 athlete in the nation and No. 2 recruit in Idaho, only behind Michigan TE Colston Loveland.
Utah signed 16 prospects during the early signing period in December. They also brought in three players from the transfer portal, including Florida LB Mohamoud Diabate, Syracuse WR Landon Morris and Idaho TE Logan Kendall.
The Utes also have one commit in wide receiver Sidney Mbanasor that is expected to sign in February.
