Jazz Keep Home Winning Streak Alive With Second Half Surge Over Blazers

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz extended their franchise record home winning streak to 23 with a 122-103 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
The win over the Blazers for the Jazz also snapped a two-game losing streak after falling to the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns on the road. After trailing Portland by three points at halftime, Utah outscored the Trail Blazers 69-47 in the second half to get the win.
Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 37 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists on 14-of-25 shooting from the field. He scored 20 points in the first half. Rudy Gobert had a double-double with 18 points and 21 rebounds. Joe Ingles added 13 points off the bench, while Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanovic each chipped in 11 points apiece.
Former Weber State star Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, while shooting 8-of-21 from the floor and 3-for-12 from the three-point line. C.J. McCollum added 19 points.

Mitchell Carries Jazz Through Tightly Contested First Half
Not a ton of separation took place in the first half of the game as the Jazz outscored the Trail Blazers 30-29 in the first quarter before Portland returned the favor by outscoring Utah 27-23 in the second quarter. The Blazers took a 56-53 lead into the halftime break.
Donovan Mitchell had 20 points to lead the Jazz on 8-of-14 shooting from the field and 1-for-4 from the three-point line. Rudy Gobert added eight points and 11 rebounds. Damian Lillard (14) and C.J. McCollum (13) combined for 27 points in the first half.
The big issue for the Jazz in their overtime loss to the Phoenix Suns was the rebounding margin. Phoenix outrebounded Utah 61-45 on Wednesday night. In the first half against Portland, the Jazz were +2 in the rebounding battle.

Jazz Take Down Blazers With Second Half Surge
The third quarter was close until the midway point when the Jazz went on a 13-2 run to take an 81-70 lead with 3:06 left in the period. Utah outscored Portland 40-19 in the third quarter and took a 93-75 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Donovan Mitchell scored 13 points in the third to bring his total to 33 points. Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic and Rudy Gobert all reached double figures through three quarters. Gobert had 14 points, while Conley and Bogdanovic scored 10 points apiece.
The Jazz cruised in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Blazers 29-28. Utah improved their record to 38-13 on the season. They will continue their five game homestand on Saturday, April 10 against the Sacramento Kings. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. MT on AT&T SportsNet.
