SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz center Derrick Favors entered the top 10 on the franchise’s all-time scoring list with a layup during Utah’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Jazz hosted the Blazers at Vivint Arena on Thursday, April 8.

With 4:06 remaining in the third quarter, Donovan Mitchell got an offensive rebound on a missed three-pointer by Royce O’Neale and fed the ball to Favors on a touch pass.

Favors jumped and gently set the ball into the cylinder for two points.

Favors’ bucket gave the Jazz a 78-70 lead.

After the layup, he had seven points on 3-3 shooting. Favors also had three rebounds and a block in 11 minutes on the hardwood.

With the field goal, the longtime Jazzman passed Mehmet Okur for tenth on Utah’s list of scorers with 7,257 points.

Favors now trails Deron Williams, who sits in ninth place in Jazz scoring.

This season, the center is averaging 5.8 points, 5.6 boards, and 1.0 blocks in 15.6 minutes per contest.

After playing last season with the New Orleans Pelicans, Favors rejoined the Jazz as a free agent in July 2020. This is Favors’ tenth season as a member of the Jazz.

Utah’s game against Portland is broadcast on AT&T SportsNet and 97.5 FM.
