Tevian Jones’ Hot Shooting Helps Southern Utah Blowout Sacramento State

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tevian Jones’ great shooting helped the Southern Utah men’s basketball team to an easy win over the Sacramento State Hornets.
The Thunderbirds hosted the Hornets on Thursday, February 18.
Jones led the T-Birds to an 88-60 victory with a 24-point game.
The Southern Utah guard scored 14 points in the first half and helped SUU take a 16-point advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Over the final 20 minutes of action, Jones added another 10 points and finished shooting 8-13 from the field, including 4-7 from beyond the arc.

Overall, the Thunderbirds shot 55.7 percent for the game and 52.0 percent from deep.
Four SUU players scored in double figures in the win.
T-Bird forward Maizen Fausett posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.
The Hornets ended the contest shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three.

Chrisitan Terrell led Sacramento State with 18 points.
With the win, the Thunderbirds improved to a record of 14-3 on the season and 7-2 in Big Sky Conference play.

It was SUU’s fourth straight victory.
Southern Utah’s next game is the second contest of a back-to-back with Sacramento State. The T-Birds will host the Hornets again on Saturday, February 20 at 12 p.m. (MDT).
