Former BYU tight end Dallin Holker has found his next destination. Holker announced on social media that he is transferring to Colorado State.

The former Lehi product left the BYU program after three games into the 2022 season. Going when he did kept his redshirt year intact, leaving him with two years of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career.

When Holker made that move, he told KSL Sports, “I prayed about it, and I felt like it was the right decision for my family and I. I feel I will be able to have a better opportunity to show what I can do somewhere else.”

Taye Raymond Holker, Dallin’s wife and BYU track & field athlete, also appears to be moving to the Choice City. She wrote on Instagram, “So excited for what’s next #gorams.”

Out of the seven former BYU players that entered the Transfer Portal in the 2023 cycle, Holker is the fifth to find a new school. He joins a CSU program that finished 3-9 in head coach Jay Norvell’s first year in Fort Collins.

Former quarterback Jacob Conover and linebacker Tate Romney are moving to Arizona State. Edge rusher Logan Fano has committed to rival Utah. Plus, former offensive lineman Campbell Barrington is going to Baylor.

Holker signed with BYU in the class of 2018. He had offers from Oregon State, Utah State, and Colorado State, among others.

Holker joined the BYU program in 2018 and showed immediate flashes of his high ceiling in fall camp under offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Holker was a co-starter with former Freshman All-American tight end Matt Bushman in week one of his true freshman season.

After his freshman campaign, Holker served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Chile. As a sophomore, he returned for the 2021 season, recording 14 receptions for 200 yards.

In 2022, Holker was BYU’s tight end No. 1 during spring, while Isaac Rex was out with an injury he suffered during the USC game. Holker had nine catches for 86 yards and one touchdown in the season-opener against South Florida.
