SALT LAKE CITY- On the same day his younger brother Spencer, was set to announce his college football commitment, Logan Fano announced his intention to enter his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Fano has spent the past season at BYU after serving a church mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but has already decided to move on. The older Fano has since announced his intention to join Spencer up north with the Utes.
Grateful this wasn’t the last time I got to play with my brother.

Utah has been looking to bolster their edge rushing, and Fano has the potential to do just that.
A Closer Look At Logan Fano
Fano came out of Timpview High School as a 4-star recruit according to 247 Sports. The 6’4, 230-pound edge rusher boasted offers from a long list of suiters including Utah, but ultimately decided to take his services to the Cougars.
Fano was considered the No. 4 recruit out of the state of Utah, and the No. 21 edge rusher according to 247 Sports for the 2021 signing class.
At BYU, Fano made a good impression this past spring before suffering an ACL knee injury that set him back for the year. Many in the local media believed Fano would be cracking the Cougar starting lineup before his season-ending injury.
Early Signing Period Approaches
The early signing period is rapidly approaching for football, opening on December 21 and closing on December 23. The “traditional” signing period for the 2023 class will fall on Wednesday, February 1 but has become less dramatic over the years due to most prospects signing in December.
The Utes currently have 18 hard commits counting the addition of Logan Fano along with his younger brother, Spencer.
