Seahawks LB Cody Barton Picks Off Tom Brady During Munich Game

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current Seattle Seahawks linebacker Cody Barton celebrated his 26th birthday by intercepting Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
Brady and the Buccaneers hosted Barton and the Seahawks at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany on the linebacker’s birthday, Sunday, November 13.
With 6:31 left in the fourth quarter, the future hall of fame quarterback attempted to throw the ball over the middle before Barton leaped into the air and picked off the pass.
The former Ute returned the pigskin one yard to the Tampa Bay 45-yard line. The Seahawks capitalized on the turnover and scored a touchdown on their next possession to cut Tampa Bay’s lead to one possession.

The Buccaneers were able to run the clock out on the following drive and captured a 21-16 win over Barton and the Seahawks.
Barton finished the game with nine total tackles, eight solo tackles, one pass breakup, and an interception.
With the loss, the Seahawks fell to a 6-4 record this season.

Seattle has a bye week in Week 11. The Seahawks’ next game is at home against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, November 27 at 2:05 p.m. (MDT) on CBS.

About Cody Barton
Prior to his college and professional careers, Barton was a standout player for the Bengals of Brighton High School. After his prep career, the linebacker played at the University of Utah from 2015-18. During his time with the Utes, Barton recorded 234 total tackles, 131 solo tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one interception, 11 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in 47 games played.
Following his time at Utah, Barton was selected by the Seahawks with the No. 88 overall pick during the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Through the first nine games of 2022, Barton had 62 total tackles, 39 solo tackles, two sacks, and two pass breakups.
During his four seasons in the league, the linebacker has posted 157 total tackles, 95 solo tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups in 57 games for the Seahawks.
