Jaguars LB Devin Lloyd Picks Off Chargers QB Justin Herbert

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd intercepted Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert for his second consecutive game with a pick.

The Chargers hosted the Jaguars at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, September 25.

With 14:49 left in the second quarter and Los Angeles opening a drive at its own nine-yard line, Herbert threw a pass intended for Sony Michel.

The ball bounced off the running back and into the air.

Lloyd turned the play into a perfectly executed tip drill and picked off the pass. Lloyd returned the ball 10 yards to the Chargers’ five-yard line.

After the pick, Lloyd had one pass defended and an interception. The Jaguars owned a 3-0 lead at the time of Lloyd’s turnover forced.

Jacksonville took advantage of the pick and turned its next drive into another field goal to make it a 6-0 game.

In Week 2, Lloyd intercepted Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan for his first career interception.

Lloyd entered the Week 3 game with 17 total tackles, 11 solo tackles, and one pick in the first two games of his rookie season.

Jacksonville’s game against Los Angeles is televised on CBS.
