Aggies Give Up Late Lead, Fall In Overtime To Wyoming

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah State saw it’s five game win streak come to an end against the Cowboys after the offense stagnated late in regulation and overtime, giving Wyoming the 78-76 win.
Wyoming hosted the Aggies at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie, WY on Tuesday, February 8.
With Justin Bean struggling to get into a rhythm, Brandon Horvath and Steven Ashworth combined to score 26 of the Aggies first 27 points Tuesday night.
Horvath and Ashworth combined for the Aggies first nine shots from the field before Zee Hamoda scored seven quick points in 76 seconds.

Bean found his offense in the second half. After being held scoreless in the first 20 minutes Bean exploded for nine early second half points. Bean would finish with a double-double, scoring 14 points and collecting 11 rebounds.
Three Aggies finished in double-figures as Ashworth (14) and Horvath (20) each joined Bean.

After only playing four minutes due to foul trouble in the first half, Graham Ike led the Cowboy attack late. His 28 points led Wyoming in scoring and he also grabbed 12 rebounds.
Drake Jeffries also notched a double-double for Wyoming as he finished with 12 points and a game high 13 rebounds. Hunter Maldonado scored 23 points in the win.
Utah State will return home where they will host the Nevada Wolfpack on Friday, February 11. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (MDT) at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
