Utah State Cruises To Third Straight Win By Defeating Air Force

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies picked up their third straight win by taking down the Air Force Falcons 73-46 at home on Tuesday night.
Justin Bean and Brandon Horvath led Utah State with 17 points and nine rebounds apiece in their win over Air Force. Sean Bairstow chipped in 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. Steven Ashworth added 10 points and six assists. Rylan Jones returned to the lineup after missing several games due to concussion protocol. He had five points and three rebounds in 18 minutes on the floor.
The Aggies cruised throughout with each half being basically the same output. They outscored the Falcons 36-23 in the first half and 37-23 in the second half. They shot 62% (26-42) from the field, 31% (5-16) from the three-point line and 94% (16-17) from the free throw line.

Utah State dominated the rebound battle 36-16. Air Force didn’t have a single player score in double figures. Joseph Octave and Nikc Jackson led the Falcons with nine points apiece. A.J. Walker added eight points. Their leading rebounder was three players, including Octave, Jackson and Carter Murphy with two each.
Air Force shot 36% (18-50) from the field, 13% (2-15) from beyond the arc and 72% (8-11) at the foul line.
The Aggies won the game despite turning the ball over 18 times and AF just 12 times.
Utah State improved their record to 13-9 overall and 4-5 in Mountain West Conference play. They will be back at home on Thursday, February 3 to face San Jose State at 7 p.m. MT on The Zone Sports Network.
