BYU WR Samson Nacua Walks Into End Zone On Jet Sweep Against UAB

SHREVEPORT, La. – BYU wide receiver Samson Nacua waltzed into the end zone on a jet sweep during the Cougars’ bowl game against the UAB Blazers.
The No. 13 Cougars played the Blazers in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, December 18.
With 8:19 remaining in the second quarter, BYU quarterback Baylor Romney handed the ball off to a sweeping Nacua. Running back Lopini Katoa blocked a UAB defender and cleared a path for the senior wideout to walk across the goal line.

The receiver’s six-yard touchdown tied the game at 14-14.
Nacua’s play capped a five-play, 50-yard drive that took 2:18 off the clock.
It was Nacua’s first touch of the contest and seventh run this year.

The Provo, Utah native entered the game with 18 catches for 288 yards and three touchdowns this season.
The Independence Bowl between BYU and UAB is broadcast on ABC and KSL NewsRadio (102.7 FM and 1160 AM).
