Tyler Allgeier Breaks BYU Record, Scores TD In 11th Straight Game

SHREVEPORT, La. – BYU running back Tyler Allgeier scored against the UAB Blazers and became the first Cougar to have a touchdown in 11 consecutive games.
The No. 13 Cougars played the Blazers in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, December 18.
With 12:48 left in the first half, the sophomore running back powered his way across the goal line for a one-yard touchdown run.

The score made Allgeier the first player in BYU football history to score a touchdown in 11 straight contests.
The touchdown cut UAB’s lead to 14-7.
Allgeier’s run capped an eight-play, 72-yard drive that lasted 3:14.
After the burst, Allgeier had 11 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown. It was his 21st touchdown rush of 2021.

The Fontana, California native entered the game with 249 carries for 1,414 yards and 20 touchdowns.
