CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Utah Utes extended their lead over Oregon State by converting a Beaver turnover into a Tavion Thomas touchdown run.
The Beavers hosted the Utes at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon on Saturday, October 23.
With 1:43 remaining in the first half, OSU quarterback Chance Nolan fumbled the football under pressure from Utah’s defense. The pigskin bounced towards the goal line before popping up into the air and into the arms of Junior Tafuna.
The referees originally ruled the ball out of bounds and Oregon State’s ball. Before the Beavers were able to snap the ball, time was called and the play went into review.
After looking at the play, the officials ruled that Tafuna had recovered the ball before going out of bounds and gave possession to the Utes.
