BYU Finds End Zone On First Possession Against WSU With Katoa TD

PULLMAN, Washington – BYU ended its first offensive possession against the Washington State Cougars with a touchdown run by Lopini Katoa.

Washington State hosted BYU at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Washington on Saturday, October 23.

With 6:04 remaining in the opening quarter, BYU running back Tyler Allgeier went to the sideline for a quick break.

Katoa took advantage of the opportunity to get on the field and ran the ball three yards into the end zone for six points.

The touchdown run tied the game at 7-7.

It was Katoa’s first rush of the contest, his first touchdown of the season, and the 23rd score of his college career. Katoa entered the game with 40 carries for 165 yards this season.

On the drive, Allgeier ran the ball five times for 39 yards, including a sprint of 30 yards.

Cougar quarterback Jaren Hall was 1/1 passing for 21 yards.
