SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Phoenix Suns caught fire on the offensive end on Friday night at home as they knocked off the Utah Jazz 121-100.

Without Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell, the Jazz struggled against the Suns. Bojan Bogdanovic led the way with 22 points. Jordan Clarkson and Joe Ingles each added 12 points, while Matt Thomas scored 10 points.

Devin Booker led all scorers with 31 points. Mikal Bridges chipped in 18 points and Chris Paul finished with 12 points and 9 assists.

Suns Scorch Jazz In First Half

The game started getting out of hand in the first quarter when the Suns outscored the Jazz 39-23. They shot 69 percent (17-25) from the field and had 24 points in the paint. Utah made 45 percent (9-20) of their field goal attempts and just 10 points in the paint. Devin Booker was already up to 14 points after the first 12 minutes.

It was a better second quarter for the Jazz but it was still a big lead for the home team. Each team scored 29 points in the second quarter. Booker scored just two points in the second, while Bojan Bogdanovic had 8 points.

At the half, Booker led the way with 16 points. Two other Suns players reached double figures with 13 points from Mikal Bridges and 11 points from Deandre Ayton. Bogdanovic was the only Jazz player to score in double figures with 15 points.

Phoenix Coasts In Second Half To Beat Utah

The offense wasn’t there for the Jazz in the third quarter as they scored just 20 points, including 7 from Bogdanovic. Booker had another big quarter scoring 15 points as the Suns shot 66 percent from the field.

Quin Snyder emptied the bench early in the fourth quarter as he was looking ahead to the Raptors on Saturday.

The Jazz dropped their record to 45-18 on the season and are now tied with the Suns for first place and Phoenix holds the tiebreaker. Utah will head home to play five straight games beginning on Saturday, May 1 against the Toronto Raptors. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. MDT on AT&T SportsNet.
