Utah Jazz And The Quest For The One Seed

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It’s now well known that Monty Python legend John Cleese is a fan of the Utah Jazz. The comedic hero has been a fan of the team since the late 90s, and recently attended the Jazz road game against the Phoenix Suns.

Just as Cleese and his Monty Python crew went on their quest for the Holy Grail, the Jazz are on a quest to finish the regular season with the best record in the NBA.

The Jazz own the league’s best record currently but sit just 2.5 games over Phoenix with just 19 games left to play. With a tough close to the season ahead, Jeremiah Jensen and Sam Farnsworth previewed the remainder of the Jazz season and the Quest For The One Seed on KSL SportsBeat.

With 19 games remaining, the Jazz have 10 games that will be played at home where the team currently owns a 24 game win streak. The Jazz are 24-2 overall in Salt Lake City and haven’t lost since New Year’s Eve.

Included in the Jazz quest for the one seed, there are five games left against teams that would be in the playoffs if they started today.

The Jazz travel to face the Los Angeles Lakers twice on April 17 and 19 who are expected to be without LeBron James and Anthony Davis, return to Phoenix on April 30, before hosting the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers near the end of the season.

Of the Jazz 19 final games, 14 come against non-playoff teams, nine of which will be played at home.

While Cleese and his Monty Python group never complete their quest, the Jazz look poised to do so. According to FiveThirtyEight, the Jazz are projected to finish the season with the best record in the NBA by a full five games.
