SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah State men’s basketball team took advantage of multiple mistakes by the Air Force Falcons and cruised to an easy victory on New Year’s Eve.

The Falcons hosted the Aggies at Clune Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Thursday, December 31.

Utah State took advantage of 26 Air Force turnovers and turned them into 45 points in an 83-48 win.

The Falcons’ errors started quickly and they were unable to correct the course throughout the contest.

USU jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first half and owned a 44-28 lead at the halftime break.

In the second 20 minutes of action, the Aggies continued their dominance.

Air Force shot the ball at an effective 47.2 percent clip but the limited opportunities prevented them from catching Utah State, who shot 52.3 percent from the field.

The Aggies had five players score in double figures and were led by Justin Bean’s 15 points.

Neemias Queta, Brock Miller, Marco Anthony, and Steven Ashworth also score 10-plus points.

With the win, USU improved to 6-3 on the season and 3-0 in Mountain West Conference play.

Utah State’s next game is the second contest of a back-to-back with Air Force. The Falcons are slated to host the Aggies again on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 4 p.m. (MDT).
