Pleasant Grove’s only touchdown came in the fourth quarter when backup quarterback Dave Britton found Porter Connors.

Falcons Take Big Lead In First Half

Pleasant Grove started with the ball but had to punt it away. Skyridge had a great return that put the Falcons at the PG 32-yard line. The Vikings stopped the Falcons and forced them to turn the ball over on downs.

The home team couldn’t capitalize as Sam Leavitt fumbled the ball when he scrambled out of the pocket. On third and goal, Hillstead ran in a four-yard touchdown to give Skyridge a 7-0 lead with 5:36 remaining in the opening quarter.

When Skyridge got the ball back, Hillstead threw a 66-yard touchdown pass to James Palmer. That put the Falcons ahead 14-0 with 1:10 left in the first quarter. The bleeding continued when Smith Snowden picked off Leavitt and took it to the house. They missed the PAT but still held a 20-0 lead with 24 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

Pleasant Grove tried throwing the ball deep into the end zone but Snowden intercepted the pass for the second time and it was two minutes into the second quarter. The run kept going as Jeter Fenton ran in a short TD. The Falcons picked up the two-point conversion to extend their lead to 28-0 with 4:23 remaining in the first half.

After PG punted, Skyridge took over in Vikings territory. The Falcons trucked down the field and ended the drive with a 5-yard TD connection between Hillstead and Palmer. The Skyridge lead was 35-0 with 1:17 until halftime.

Skyridge Coasts In Second Half

Early in the fourth quarter after the two teams went scoreless in the third quarter, Dave Britton threw a TD pass to Porter Connors. They trimmed the deficit to 35-7 with 8:18 left in the game.
