Former Utah Utes DE Nate Orchard Agrees To One-Year Deal With Washington Redskins

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Washington Redskins and former Utah Utes defensive end Nate Orchard have agreed on a one-year deal.

Orchard returns to the Redskins for a full season after originally joining the organization on November 27. He appeared in five games for Washington during that stint and racked up 14 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery.

After his first game with the Redskins, Orchard had an outstanding performance and after the game was emotional.

The former Utah standout has gone through some highs and lows in his NFL career.

Orchard was selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He was released after three seasons in 2018. The Highland high school star signed with the Buffalo Bills where he was waived one month later.

The Kansas City Chiefs picked up Orchard one week after he was cut by the Bills. He nearly lasted one month in Kansas City before being released. Orchard then joined the Seahawks for a quick second before joining the Miami Dolphins during preseason.

Even though he had an outstanding preseason, he was cut by the Dolphins. He went two and a half months without an NFL contract before the Redskins signed him in November.
