LOGAN, Utah – Utah State quarterback Jordan Love will play in his final game as an Aggie on Friday when they face Kent State in the Frisco Bowl.

Love announced last week that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2020 NFL Draft. He believes it is important to play well in the final game of his college career.

“It’s really important,” Love said. “Knowing that it’s my last game here as an Aggie, wearing that uniform, it’s really important for me to just got out there and ball out, and have fun with my brothers this last time.”

The star quarterback talked about what went into his decision to skip his senior campaign and turn pro.

“I waited until the end of the season, then based off of the information that I’ve gotten and how I feel, I’m ready for the league,” Love stated. “I’m ready to seize this opportunity that’s there. Talking with my family, I just decided that it is the best decision for me, and that’s what I want to move forward with.”

This season, the junior threw for 3,085 yards, 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions after a record-breaking season in 2018 where he threw for 3,567 yards, 32 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He was asked about how much this season weighed on his decision to declare for the draft.

“Obviously, it was a tough year this year,” said Love. “Going into the league, they’re going to base it off of my last performance. I feel like I am who I am, and if they want to take me then they want to take me, and I feel like this is the best decision for me moving forward.”

In his final game with his college teammates, Love just wants to have fun.

“For myself, I just want to really finish the season off with a bang,” Love stated. “It’s been an up and down season, and like I said, you’re only as good as your last performance. I just want to go out there and finish with a bang, and have fun. It’s my last time playing for Utah State, so I’m just going to go out there and have fun.”

After his final game and his college career, Love was asked how he wanted to be remembered at Utah State.

“I just want to be remembered for who I am,” Love said. “For being a quarterback who played here and did good things, won games, and whatever comes with it.”

The Frisco Bowl will take place on Friday at 5:30 p.m. against Kent State. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
