Finebaum Finds Foot In Mouth Again With Utah’s ’25 Fans’

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Apparently ESPN host Paul Finebaum had a lot to say about Utah (and their 25 fans) Tuesday before the College Football Playoff rankings even came out.

“Do you want Ohio State and Utah on Saturday on the biggest day of the year of college football? Nobody wants to see Utah,” Finebaum said Tuesday on Stephen A. Smith’s show.

“I know I’ll get emails from all of Utah’s 25 fans,” Finebaum continued and began to laugh.

Finebaum and Smith discussed their opinion that nobody cares about the Pac-12 unless it is a team like USC or UCLA.

“I don’t want to see Utah in the College Football Playoff – I mean who is Utah in the NFL?” Finebaum asked. “Pick the least attractive NFL Franchise – I don’t want to see them.”

Finebaum has his own self-titled show and regularly appears on the SEC Network.

These comments came before he told viewers of ESPN’s “Get Up” that no one in the country wanted to see Utah in the College Football Playoff.

“Let’s be honest, the country does not want to see Utah in the College Football Playoff… It’s Utah,” Finebaum said Wednesday morning.

In last night’s College Football Playoff rankings release Utah came in at No. 5, moving up a spot from last week following their win over Colorado in the final game of the regular season.

As the Utes prepare for the Pac-12 Championship this Friday against Oregon they are on the outside looking in of the College Football Playoff. For the Utes to get that fourth spot LSU must beat Georgia. The spot will be taken by either Utah, Oklahoma or Baylor.

After Alabama’s loss to Auburn, they slid down to No. 12 and are no longer a threat.

The Pac-12 Championship will be in Santa Clara, California Friday at 5:00 p.m. The game will be televised on ABC.
