Utah State Adds Three-Star Commitment From Lehi To 2023 Class

LOGAN, Utah – Back-to-back 5A state champion safety with the Lehi Pioneers, Kadiyon Sweat, announced his intent to play football for Utah State University.
Sweat made the announcement via social media on Wednesday, December 7.

About Kadiyon Sweat
Listed as a 6’0, 185 pound safety, Sweat won two state championships with the Lehi Pioneers, quarterbacking the back end of a stifling defense.

In 50 games with Lehi, Sweat accumulated 217 tackles with four coming behind the line of scrimmage. Sweat is credited with 19 interceptions since his junior season.
He had two INT’s in the Pioneers 5A semifinal win over Stansbury.
With the state championship on the line, Sweat added another INT against Timpview, helping his team to their second straight state title.

According to 247sports.com, Sweat had offers from Idaho State, Idaho, Eastern Washington, Bryant, Weber State, Colorado State, Air Force & Utah Tech before committing to Blake Anderson, Ephraim Banda and the Utah State Aggies.

Utah State (6-6, 5-3) will face the Memphis Tigers (6-6, 3-5) of the American Conference on Tuesday, December 27 in Dallas, TX.

The Aggies are 3-4 all-time against Memphis.
This is first meeting between these two programs since 1977 when USU lost 31-26 in Memphis. This marks the second neutral sight meeting as Utah State defeated Memphis 28-14 in a game played in Salt Lake City, UT in 1967.
