Lehi Advances To 5A Title Game With Shutout Win Over Stansbury

SALT LAKE CITY – The top-ranked Lehi Pioneers are going back to the 5A state championship game after a 42-0 win over Stansbury at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Jackson Brousseau completed 17 of his 29 pass attempts for 225 yards and four touchdowns for Lehi. Carson Gonzalez ran the ball 13 times for 100 yards and one touchdown.
For Stansbury, Ezra Harris completed 8 of his 23 pass attempts for 86 yards and two interceptions. Lehi held Stansbury to 128 yards of total offense, including 86 yards passing, and 42 yards rushing. Lehi had 374 yards of total offense.
Lehi Pours It On In the First Half Against Stansbury
After turnovers by Stansbury and punts by Lehi, the Pioneers scored their first touchdown on a run by Carson Gonzalez to give Lehi a 7-0 lead with 8:09 remaining in the first quarter.

Another interception was thrown by Ezra Harris to set up a long run by Devaughn Eka. On the following play, Kadiyon Sweat scored a one-yard touchdown on a wildcat play to put Lehi ahead 14-0 with 3:06 remaining in the first quarter.

The Stansbury offense stalled again and the Pioneers took advantage of it with a 25-yard touchdown pass by Jackson Brousseau to Makafefie Havea. Lehi took a 21-0 lead with 11:52 remaining in the second quarter.

Brousseau added to the lead with a three-yard touchdown to Carson Gonzalez to give the Pioneers a 28-0 lead with 3:52 to go in the first half. Just before halftime, Brousseau connected with Havea for a nine-yard touchdown as Lehi took a 35-0 into the halftime break.
Only one score happened in the second half and that was a two-yard touchdown pass from Brousseau to Mays Madsen to give Lehi a 42-0 lead with 11:13 remaining in the game.
Lehi will advance to the 5A Championship and will face the winner of No. 2 Timpview/No. 11 Orem on Friday, November 18 at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The game will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. MT on KSLSports.com.
