Former BYU RB Scores Second TD For Fourth Multi-Score Game This Season

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU and current Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams scored his second touchdown against Miami Dolphins for his fourth multi-score game of the 2022 season.
The Lions hosted the Dolphins at Ford Field on Sunday, October 30.
With 13:46 remaining in the first half, Williams ran up the middle for a one-yard score.
The run gave the Lions a 21-7 lead.

Williams’ second touchdown capped a six-play, 75-yard drive that lasted 2:04.
With the run, Williams recorded his fourth multiple touchdown game this season. His previous multi-score games each featured two touchdowns.
MIdway through the second quarter, Williams had eight rushes for 41 yards and two touchdowns. He also had one catch for 10 yards.
The former BYU star’s first score came on Detroit’s opening drive of the contest.

Entering the Week 8 contest, the running back had 92 rushes for 411 yards and six touchdowns in six games this season. During his NFL career, Williams has carried the ball 745 times for 2,997 yards, and 19 touchdowns. Heâs also recorded 154 catches for 1,152 yards and eight touchdowns.
Detroit’s game against Miami is broadcast on CBS and NFL Sunday Ticket.
About Jamaal Williams
Before his time in the NFL, Williams was a star at BYU. He finished his time in Provo as the Cougarsâ all-time leading rusher in both career and single-yard yards.
During his time at BYU (2012-14, 2016), Williams ran the ball 726 times for 3,901 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also had 60 receptions for 567 yards and a touchdown. Williams only lost two fumbles during his college career.
Following his time at BYU, the Southern California native was selected by the Green Bay Packers during the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played the first four seasons of his professional career with the Packers before signing with Lions in 2021.

Williams is currently in his six NFL season and second with the Lions.
