PROVO, Utah – The uniform unveil for BYU football takes on a greater significance this week. That’s because BYU will be facing the team that made uniform unveiling a thing in the first place in college football.

No. 12 BYU travels to Eugene, Oregon, to face the No. 25 Oregon Ducks. When it comes to uniforms, there’s no more of a trendsetter in the college football jersey game than the Ducks.
Against the Ducks, BYU will be wearing what they dubbed last year as the “Royal Sitake.” The “Royal Sitake” is a royal blue helmet, with a royal blue facemask. Then the top and pants are white with royal blue numbers and stripes.
BYU wore this look last year in a 34-17 win over Georgia Southern.
Oregon has not yet released the uniforms they will wear in the Top 25 tilt.
BYU and Oregon last met in the 2006 Las Vegas Bowl, a game that BYU won, 38-8. The last time BYU traveled to Autzen Stadium was in 1990, during Ty Detmer’s Heisman Trophy season. Oregon upset BYU in a matchup where the Cougars were ranked No. 4 in the country.
No. 12 BYU versus No. 25 Oregon kicks off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday on FOX and KSL NewsRadio.
