Rudy Gay Shows His Athleticism With Put Back Dunk Against Nets

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz forward Rudy Gay hammered home a put-back dunk early in the fourth quarter as the Jazz fight back against Brooklyn.
The Jazz were in New York City for a back to back, this time at Barclays Center against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, March 21.
With the Jazz trailing 93-78, Rudy Gay followed a Jared Butler three-point miss with an offensive rebound and in one motion followed through with a full extension, left-handed throw down that cut the Nets lead to 13.

Brooklyn took advantage of a turnover prone Jazz offense and porous second half defense to turn a two-point halftime lead into 16-point lead heading into the final 12 minutes.
An uncharacteristically poor game from Rudy Gobert played a large role in the Jazz poor second half play. Gobert finished with 11 points and only four rebounds in the 114-106 loss. Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 30 points.
Rudy Gay continued his improved play of late, knocking down 4-5 field goals and finishing with nine points and three rebounds off the bench.
The Jazz crushed the Nets on February 4, in Utah 125-102, as Irving played, though Durant missed the game with a knee injury. With the game being in New York, Irving is unavailable to play due to ongoing COVID protocols in New York City.
The Jazz played without forward Bojan Bogdanovic, guard Danuel House Jr. and center Udoka Azubuike.
The Jazz shift their focus to the Boston where they will continue the six game road trip on Wednesday, March 23 at TD Garden in Boston, MA. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. (MST).
