Utah Football Receives Commitments From Zion Steptoe, Nate Johnson From 2022 Class

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah football program received commitments from Zion Steptoe and Nate Johnson from the 2022 class.
Zion Steptoe and Nate Johnson are the second and third commitments for Utah football from the 2022 recruiting class, joining Weber High star Aisea Moa.
Steptoe is a three-star wide receiver from Frisco, Texas. Johnson is a three-star quarterback from Clovis, California.
Steptoe was the first of the two to commit on Friday, June 18, making his announcement on Twitter.
“Man what a process it’s been,” Steptoe tweeted. “I just want to take the time to thank God for giving me the ability to be where I am today, my parents for constantly pushing me to my full potential, and my coaches and teammates for taking me in, and giving me a chance to showcase my talent. I want to thank all of the coaches who took the time to watch my film, spend time with me and offer me a scholarship. I’m also thankful for my trainers and everyone who helped me through the recruiting process. With that being said, I’m excited to announce, I will be continuing my football career at the University of Utah.”

Steptoe visited Utah on June 11. He received offers from Purdue, Vanderbilt, Air Force, Arkansas State, Columbia, Dartmouth, FIU, Georgetown, Harvard, Hawai’i, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Morgan State, Navy, New Mexico, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Texas State, Western Kentucky and Yale.
Johnson announced his decision on social media nearly three hours after Steptoe did.

The Clovis, California native was an Elite 11 Finalist. He visited Utah on June 3. Other offers Johnson received includes Michigan, Arizona State, Fresno State, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, TCU and UCLA.
