Real Monarchs Add Stanford University Forward Charlie Wehan

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Real Monarchs have added Stanford University forward Charlie Wehan to help bolster the goal-scoring ranks for Jamison Olave’s men.
“Charlie is a bright-young attacking talent who enjoyed a successful career with Stanford, and we are pleased to have him join the Real Monarchs, adding offensive depth to our squad,” Technical Director Kurt Schmid said.
Wehan, 22, spent his four-year collegiate career with the Cardinal, winning three Pac-12 trophies and the 2017 NCAA Championship. In 72 matches, he recorded 10 goals and 18 assists and earned All-Pac-12 honors three times.

He becomes the second member of his family to sign for a USL team. His older brother Chris currently plays for Orange County SC and has previously spent time with Reno 1868 and New Mexico United.

The Real Monarchs are hosting El Paso Locomotive this Friday evening. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. as the Monarchs hope to secure their second victory of the season.
