Real Monarchs Host Austin Bold FC As Both Clubs Search For First Victory In 2021

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Monarchs will hope to secure their first three points of the season this evening as they host Austin Bold FC with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
Thus far, the Monarchs have notched a draw on the road against San Antonio and a 2-0 loss in their home opener a week ago against LA Galaxy II. Whereas, Austin has suffered one defeat on the year in which they lost 3-1 to New Mexico United last weekend.
Battle Of The Winless At Zions
The Monarchs are looking to make Zions Bank Stadium a fortress. Since the start of the 2020 season, the Monarchs have only managed 2 wins, 1 draw, and 9 losses on their home turf.
Austin Bold and the Monarchs have played each other twice, both matches occurring in 2019 in which Austin won once and drew once. The Monarchs will be hoping to secure their first win against Austin this evening.
For Austin and the Monarchs, new faces fill up the team sheet and both clubs are looking for more consistency from their new acquisitions.
Should be a good one tonight.

Malik Johnson and Ibrahim Bance have been the standouts for the Monarchs thus far. With Johnson showcasing impressive speed and skill up the left flank while Bance controls the heart of the midfield with fearless challenges and aggression.
Austin, on the other hand, has a new front three of Juan Torres, Sean Okoli, and Jason Johnson who they are very fond of and will be hoping to see plenty of goals from this season. New goalkeeper Hugo Fauroux made a spectacular save that was nominated for USL Save of the Week against New Mexico but followed that up by making a mistake that led to the game-winning goal and an Austin Bold FC loss.
Fauroux was beaten by Monarch’s goalkeeper and 16-year-old Jeff Dewnsup for his two save highlight that ended up winning USL Save of the Week.
