SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz center Rudy Gobert destroyed a dunk attempt by Ja Morant with a stifling block during Game 2 of Utah’s first round playoff series against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Jazz hosted the Grizzlies at Vivint Arena on Wednesday, May 26.

With 8:59 left in the second quarter, Morant drove towards the hoop before rising up for a potential slam dunk.

The attempt was thwarted when Morant met the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Gobert rejected Morant’s would-be jam and helped the Jazz maintain a 46-32 lead.

At halftime, Utah owned a 74-54 advantage.

During the first two quarters, Gobert had nine points on 3-4 field goals. He also recorded nine rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

Gobert posted a plus-10 rating during his 17 minutes on the hardwood.

This season, the Jazz center is averaging 14.3 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per contest.

Utah’s game against Memphis is broadcast on TNT, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
