Mitchell’s new shoe is an update from the D.O.N. Issue #2 released in August of 2020. The guard debuted the second edition in the bubble during the NBA’s restart in Orlando.
The shoe includes Mitchell’s signature low cut below the ankle, with a new strap near the laces for better support around the foot.
DePaula’s photo matches pictures from a rumored leak of the shoe from the website sneakerspeculation.com.
Mitchell’s first signature shoe, the D.O.N. Issue #1 was released in June of 2019 after the guard’s second season in the NBA.
According to the shoemaker Adidas, the All-Star’s journey combined with his positive outlook through hardship led to the decision to name his signature line D.O.N. Issue #1, as a testament to Mitchell’s Determination Over Negativity.

“Determination Over Negativity is a belief that anything is possible no matter who you are or where you come from,” said Mitchell. “I wanted this sneaker to be a symbol of that – for the kid who believes they can do anything.”
An official release date for the D.O.N. Issue #3 has yet to be released, nor has the number of colorways that will be unveiled when the sneaker first hits the market. The guard has previously partnered with companies like Marvel, Crayola, and Pixar for inspiration for different designs on the shoe.
