Carolina Panthers Sign Former BYU Wide Receiver Micah Simon

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Carolina Panthers announced the signing of former Cougar wide receiver Micah Simon following his performance at BYU’s 2021 Pro Day.
Simon participated in BYU’s Pro Day on Friday, March 26.
During the event, the receiver impressed NFL scouts by running the 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds.
Carolina announced the addition of Simon on Tuesday, March 30.

Micah Simon at BYU’s 2021 Pro Day
After his senior season, Simon was unable to have a 2020 Pro Day because of the coronavirus pandemic. A year later, he made the most of the opportunity to show off his skillset to NFL scouts.
In addition to the 40-yard sprint, Simon caught passes from Zach Wilson and participated in a variety of drills at the Pro Day.

Simon played receiver for the Cougars from 2015-19.
During his career at BYU, the Dallas, Texas native had 90 catches for 1,109 yards and three touchdowns. Simon also ran the ball 11 times for 54 yards and two touchdowns.

BYU also took advantage of Simon’s quarterback skills from high school on multiple occasions. Simon went 2/3 passing for 57 yards and a touchdown during his time in Provo.
