SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake striker Douglas Martinez scored the only goal for Honduras in their 1-1 draw with El Salvador today. The point secures Honduras’ atop their group with one game left to play.

It was Martinez’s first goal of the tournament after failing to score against Haiti a few days ago.
Unfortunately, Honduras conceded the equalizer 20 minutes later and both teams settled for a point. Honduras is tied with Canada on four points at the top of the group. El Salvador and Haiti are both tied on one point.
However, Honduras and Canada are yet to play. If Honduras loses to Canada and there is a winner in the El Salvador and Haiti contest then Honduras could lose their spot in the semifinals depending on goal differential.
Honduras and Canada will play on Thursday, March 25 with kickoff slated for 8 p.m.
