Utah State Center Neemias Queta Named Honorable Mention All-American

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State center Neemias Queta was named honorable mention All-American by The Associated Press for his performance in the 2020-21 season.
The AP announced its All-America players on Tuesday, March 16.
Other Awards
Queta was also recognized as the District VIII Player of the Year by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) and first-team all-District 17 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

Prior to Tuesday, Queta had been named the Mountain West Conference’s Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
Bleacher Report honored the junior center as the nation’s top defensive player.

Neemias Queta this season
This season, Queta is averaging 15.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 3.2 blocks, and 1.1 steals in 28 games.
Queta and the Aggies finished the regular season and Mountain West tourney with a 20-8 record, including 17-5 in conference games.

Utah State’s next game is in the NCAA Tournament. The Aggies earned a No. 11 seed in the tourney.
The Aggies will take the No. 6 seed Texas Tech Red Raiders. The game will tip-off on Friday, March 19 at 11:45 a.m. (MDT). It will broadcast on TNT.
