Bleacher Report Honors Utah State’s Neemias Queta As National Defensive Player Of The Year

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Bleacher Report named Utah State men’s basketball center Neemias Queta as the outlet’s National Defensive Player of the Year in college basketball.
The Defensive Player of the Year honor was one of eight awards handed out by Bleacher Report on Monday, March 8.
Queta was tabbed as the country’s best player after becoming one of only two players in the NCAA to average more than 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game during the regular season since the 1992-93 season.

Earlier in the day, the junior center was recognized as the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year.

This season, Queta is averaging 14.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 3.0 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 25 games.
Queta and the Aggies finished the regular season with a 18-7 overall record, including 15-4 in Mountain West Conference play.
Utah State’s next game is in the Mountain West Conference Tournament.
The Aggies will take on the winner of UNLV and Air Force. The game will tip-off on Thursday, March 11 at 7 p.m. (MDT). It will broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
