Red Rocks Take Care Of Utah State In Regular Season Finale

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Red Rocks took care of the Utah State Aggies in their final meet of the 2021 regular season with a 197.275-196.500 win.
The Red Rocks entered the meet ranked fifth in the country, while Utah State was the 20th ranked team in the nation.
Utah State’s Leighton Varnadore won the all-around title with a 39.200.

The Red Rocks started the meet on the vault with Utah State on bars. Lucy Stanhope and Alexia Burch recorded the highest scores on the vault with a pair of 9.90 scores. Jaedyn Rucker added a 9.875. Maile O’Keefe posted a 9.825. Utah took a 49.325-49.0 lead over Utah State after the first rotation.

Utah moved to bars on the second rotation with USU on vault. Maile O’Keefe wrapped up the bars with a stick, leading to a 9.90 score. Emile LeBlanc had a 9.875 performance on senior night. Cristal Isa recorded the same score as LeBlanc. Halfway through the meet, Utah was ahead of the Aggies 98.575-98.175.

When the third rotation started, the Utes were on the beam and the Aggies on the floor. Maile O’Keefe continued her outstanding beam performances with a 9.95. Abby Paulson was rolling as she picked up a 9.90. Lucy Stanhope added a seas-high 9.875. The Utes held a 148.025-147.350 advantage over Utah State heading into the final rotation.

In the final rotation, the Red Rocks were on the floor with Utah State on beam. Sydney Soloski won the floor title with a 9.95. Jaedyn Rucker and Lucy Stanhope each added a pair of 9.90 scores.

The Red Rocks ended the regular season with a 10-1 overall record and wrapped up the Pac-12 regular season title last week after going 6-0 in conference play. Utah will turn their attention to the Pac-12 Championships on Saturday, March 20 at the Maverik Center.
