SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Red Rocks received some great news as seniors Alexia Burch and Sydney Soloski have decided to return for one more season.
College seniors have the option to return to athletic competition due to the NCAA granting a year that eligibility was not impacted, and Alexia Burch and Sydney Soloski are taking advantage of that with the Red Rocks.
“With COVID-19 taking away the end of my junior year and then completely changing how senior year looked, I was thrilled to get the news that we were granted a fifth year,” said Burch on returning. “I could not be more excited to stay with this program and these girls for an extra year!”

Burch is a captain for the Red Rocks this season. She was a 2020 All-Pac-12 first team selection on vault. Burch is currently ranked No. 8 in the country on vault this season. The Sparks, Nevada native won seven vault titles in her time at Utah.
“I came to Utah to compete in front of the best 15,000 fans in the nation and that’s how I want to go out,” said Soloski on her decision for another season as a Ute. “I don’t fully know what next year has in store, but I’m optimistic we will be back in the Huntsman with fans and there is no greater feeling than having thousands of people cheering you on while you do the sport you love.”
